All of us today feel more and more the gap between what the term "politics" really evokes and between what we meant. In our best expectations, politics, the one with the capital "P", and what he feels upon himself the responsibility to change things and it is the moral bond that every citizen should feel toward the thing of all. Other
instead, the policy with the "p" tiny, one mediocre, made excuses for not keeping promises and a persistent desire to retain.
In one of his last interviews, Enzo Biagi said: "The thought of a politician is likely to have more attention than what happens in society. In so doing, the public knows his sad words and not what is happening to the country. "
The most serious fault of this bad policy, it is precisely the fact that they divert attention from the problems, real and serious, that plague our country.
I believed from the outset in the draft Ignazio Marino and Thomas Casadei, because in their motions argue that the policy must be in the service of life for all and especially to those who have less, those who can not make it, who must fight every day to achieve that life "freedom and dignity" that our Constitution has guaranteed to all.
But instead of talking about this, our party, even during this Congress, has spent time and energy with the attacks between candidates. The result is that today we know like minded people, Bersani and Franceschini, or Stephen and Marie: the shape of the party, the primary advantages and disadvantages of the two hats, but not at all clear how we should tackle the problems of the country, what are the priorities and solutions, such as errors and things to do.
No wonder, then, that in a few months we have lost millions of votes. We have spent years
moving to the draft of the Democratic Party, but so far we have taken our best intentions.
On the economic crisis, for example, we have been silent for too long, and we waited for the outbreak of the soul, before he could finally declare that we are on the side of workers.
And again, we have tolerated the measures against those suspected of Brunetta lazy, unable to say NO dry in a public defense of the workers for fear of not being understood by the people. And even when everything has been cleared by the Constitutional Court, even then we were able to refute publicly the work of the minister and to underline the failure!
What sense, then, expect to be opposition to introduce a law regulating the conflict of interest? And what about Enrico Letta, who voted against the claim of the party and supported the bill Berlusconi on living wills?
the PD today lack the courage and pride of their ideas. There is fear of losing support now, focusing too much on the current economic situation.
Since this party was born two years ago, I never had the opportunity to enjoy a clear position that was put forth by everyone for more than a few days.
But the ideas for which is really worth fighting for, are the ones that make you feel that you are doing in policy especially for those who will.
This love for reality, and this nostalgia for the future, allow us to imagine a party that lives for comparison with people.
We want a party that does not close the door to the primary to count cards in its burrow, and we believe in a party that feels the need to involve the public, starting with the Oct. 25 primary.
We want a free party with the currents, which recognizes the importance of circles, and who decides with whom to ally themselves on the basis of transparent planning commitments. If there alleiamo before knowing who we are, who we will never know!
